Creativity Workshop for Ames Iowa Teachers

Sunday, July 22nd, 2007

The Magic of Teaching Creatively class will held in Ames, IA this week for area teachers. In this class, local teachers will learn to design lesson plans in more creative ways.  This two day workshop class allows participants the opportunity to become more creative in their thinking and teaching styles as Sally facilitated numerous active participation activities.

Sally will help teachers facilitate ideas in storytelling, puppetry, technology, drama, clowning, music and brain-based learning.  Participants will also learn how humor and laughter are important in the learning process as Sally is a Certified Laughter Leader.  Sally had the teachers participate in many laughter exercises and how these would be helpful for their students.

This class is sponsored by Heartland Area Education Agency (AEA 11). The seminar will be held on July 26 & 27, 2007 in the Ames, Iowa AEA office. For more information, visit the Heartland AEA website. There is a full syllabus for The Magic of Teaching Creatively available on this website.

Des Moines Iowa Preschool Movement Education Program

Sunday, July 22nd, 2007

The KangaKids FunBus (a gym on wheels) provides area preschool and daycare centers an opportunity for kids to experience fitness activities in a fun way.  Directors such as Ashley Anderson at A Child’s World at Jordan Creek in West Des Moines have expressed how thrilled parents are with this program. Every week the FunBus arrives at A Child’s World and many other centers across Des Moines and Central Iowa.

What is the FunBus? Kids come aboard the big yellow bus ready to move, tumble, jump, climb and dance for fitness.  This program provides children much needed and desired exercise with the convenience of delivery right at their daycare or preschool center. Parents love it almost as much as the kids.

The KangaKids FunBus is a part of KangaKids Party Entertainment that provides educational and entertainment services across Iowa.

Company Picnic Entertainment

Sunday, July 22nd, 2007

Frequently KangaKids Party Entertainment provides entertainment for company picnics or events. Yesterday I had a great time providing fun for the children at the Terex Crane company picnic in Waverly, IA (just north of Cedar Falls and Waterloo).

During this event the kids enjoyed an uncounted number of balloon hats, animals, and other sculptures. Family members also had a chance to see a few magic tricks and enjoy some temporary tattoos.

The venue for the picnic was Bremer County Fairgrounds. There were certainly many smiling faces as the company really went all out for the kids and adults. There was a monster truck, a live band (The Saturday Morning Band out of Green Bay, WI), a money machine, haystack search, and more. The catering crew served up some great BBQ.

It was quite an event!
